The story in this novel revolves around Ferrin who is no ordinary blacksmith at all. He is born in a world with great magic where it is a thing highly feared and outlawed as well. Ferrin decided to make full use of his magical gift to help him in his work while struggling hard to have food on the table. That was the decision that had brought the Black Watch right onto the doorstep. Ferrin did his best to devise a strategy to escape from there while being caged along with a helpless band of half-starved wielders. He was armed with nothing other than the very sarcastic with that he has and also his determination of never giving up. With such a frame of mind, he attempted the impossible.
Shackled is an enjoyable novel especially if you are a fan of wizards. It depicts some amazing wars and that will keep you engaged throughout. The performance by Tim was done brilliantly as well.
