The second part of the series proved to be just as captivating as the first. Despite the myriad of events unfolding in my life, I found myself devouring it with remarkable speed. Alexis remains relatable, even as her life plunges into increasingly tumultuous situations. She perseveres, navigating the chaos while discovering her true identity along the way. Kieran, finally succumbing to his emotions, earnestly endeavors to win over our protagonist. Daisy and Mordecai’s circumstances show signs of improvement, though their banter remains intact. Moreover, this installment introduces a host of intriguing side characters, enriching the narrative. The enigmatic six individuals offer an enticing mystery to unravel, making the story all the more exhilarating. Bria’s exuberance is simply mind-blowing—in the most delightful manner, of course! Once again, this exceptional author delivers a flawless five-star masterpiece that leaves readers yearning for more.

Sin & Magic audiobook Series Demigods of San Francisco
This sequel is an absolute gem. If you haven’t already immersed yourself in the wonders of “Sin and Chocolate,” I implore you to do so (and why wouldn’t you? It’s utterly fabulous!). “Book 2 in the Demigod series” seamlessly continues the gripping tale from where its predecessor left off. The author skillfully maintains the momentum and the distinctive essence of the world established in the first installment. The transition is flawless, as if no break existed at all. Alexis finds herself bound to Kieran, embarking on a mission to locate his mother’s skin and grant her eternal peace.
Remarkably, I found myself even more enamored with this book than its predecessor. I adore how Ms. Breene refuses to elongate events needlessly—a pitfall that plagues many series. Instead, she provides closure on certain story elements introduced in the first book, enhancing the fluidity and pace of the overarching plot. This book encompasses everything I adore about K.F. Breene’s works: resilient female characters, eye-catching male counterparts, suspense, excitement, and, above all, uproarious humor. The writing brims with wit, and to my delight, there’s a delicious touch of sensuality between Alexis and Kieran—Hallelujah!
The familiar merry band of characters graces these pages once again. The Six, their enigmatic nature intact, continue to be a marvelous addition, complementing the story. After getting to know them better in this book, they truly feel like family. Mordecai remains a captivating presence as he prepares for his transformation. I adored him in the first book, and my admiration only grows here. Daisy, who occasionally irked me in the previous installment despite my fondness for her, becomes an absolute delight in this book. She exudes humor, fire, and holds her own while training alongside the slightly murderous Zorn. Kieran’s character retains his scorching allure as he grapples with his emotions and Alexis’ role in his life. While I’ve noticed mixed feedback about Alexis in some reviews, I, personally, grew to adore her even more in this book. Her occasional cluelessness and anxiety add a brilliant touch, making her highly relatable and endearing. She possesses strength and courage, interwoven with unmistakably human flaws. It wouldn’t be realistic for her to be a confident master of all trades given her background. In my eyes, this deeper understanding of her character only strengthens my affinity for her. The story delves further into her motivations, and combined with her background, we gain a profound comprehension of why Alexis is the delightful whirlwind she has become. Witnessing her embrace her spirit magic and come into her own is simply awe-inspiring. And how can I not love and respect a girl who can’t be bothered to properly iron her pants? She’s my spirit animal. Moreover, Alexis’ inner monologue in this book had me in stitches—she possesses a delightful dash of madness and a wicked sense of humor.
The introduction of a new character, Bria, adds an exciting dynamic to the narrative. Think of Reagan from Breene’s other works, but adorned with tattoos, piercings, exuding a punk/rock vibe, and possessing the ability to commune with the deceased. Needless to say, I adored her. She’s positively unhinged. Bria meshes splendidly with Alexis, and true to Breene’s style, it’s exhilarating to witness female characters collaborating as a formidable team instead of tearing each other down. Although it does seem like Bria has a penchant for danger!
Several plot twists had me perched on the edge of my seat as the book whisked me away on an exhilarating ride. With a few loose ends neatly tied up, Book 3 stands ready to confront Valens, the character we love to despise. “Sin and Magic” captured my heart, and I will continue to bow before the unmatched prowess of Queen Breene. I eagerly anticipate the next installment, and with each book I devour from K.F. Breene, I find myself contemplating reenacting a playful version of “Misery” where I keep her in a metaphorical basement. That, of course, is a jest. Please don’t report me! But in all seriousness, keep writing, dear author! Your readers are in dire need, and I am desperate for Book 3. Yesterday!

Audiobook Sin & Magic by K.F. Breene
I devoured the first two books, starting with Book 1 and swiftly moving on to Book 2, within a mere 24 hours. They possess an irresistible allure that draws you in completely. This installment, in particular, delivered an extra dose of sizzling excitement, a temptation I simply cannot resist. However, my anticipation mounts, hoping for an even greater indulgence in the next book. I yearn for a more substantial relationship to develop between the main characters, eagerly awaiting the stage where they transition from their current dynamic to the realm of “dating”—as if they aren’t already teetering on the edge of that precipice.

I’m thoroughly relishing this series thus far. The characters have captured my heart, and I find their growth truly compelling. Personally, I have a penchant for lengthy series that grant ample opportunity to truly know and understand a character. Additionally, I appreciate how the author has refrained from dedicating excessive time to the antagonistic figures, instead providing mere glimpses of their presence. This approach has prevented me from experiencing the disappointment I’ve encountered in other books (though I understand that preferences may differ). However, I have a strong intuition that Valens will make a formidable appearance in the forthcoming installments, leaving a lasting impact. K.F. Breene has firmly secured a place on my list of favorite authors, alongside the likes of I.T. Lucas and Teresa Gableman. If you enjoy their works, I am confident that this series will captivate you as well. I eagerly await the next book, excited for what lies ahead.
