STEPPENWOLF AUDIOBOOK
Harry Haller is described as a confused being in the novel who can decide to which extreme he wants to go. These confusions have taken him away from the world and he has started living a lonely life. The culture of the people in the city makes him feel tired of life and then at night, he is haunted by terrible thoughts in a dream like situation. Hermann Hesse has presented a very twisted character in front of the audience in this novel.

There are also many coincidences in the novel which change the course of the story now and then. Harry meets a stranger on the road who gives him a book and when Harry starts reading the book he comes to know that it is addressed to him by name. Also, the character in the story seems to be facing the same kind of problems.
A talk about suicide consumes a long portion of the novel and when Harry meets the same man at a funeral he gets surprised. The man asks Harry to visit a Dance Hall nearby which for Harry does not seem to be a very nice suggestion. Ignoring that option of the Dance Hall, Harry goes to his friend’s place, and then later he moves here and there aimlessly. In the end, Harry finally stops at the Dance Hall, and here he meets Hermine who shows her interest in him.

Peter Weller goes slowly in narration at this point because Harry’s life finally gets unidirectional after meeting with Hermine. Siddhartha and The Glass Bead Game too were very serious novels and had love relations well garnished with the help of beautiful words.
