I should have known better when I saw that rascally smile in your photo. I’ve bought and read ever 4 Horseman tale I can get my hands on. I’m in my 60’s now. Retired IT pro with 20 years in entertainment. I’ve spent time with intel, airborne, armor and air cav. And I’ve been reading science fiction since as soon as I could read. Studied history and war most of my life. I LOVED this tale. The characterizations, the tactical situations, the motifs and the details. You sparked so many parts of my mind and memories I was reading this tale late into the night. Well done! A very well told tale.

A action-packed story of a Canadian mercenary group, Queen Elizabeth’s Own Foresters, that established themselves after the Alpha Wars and their moderate successes but are targeted for extermination and where it possibly intersects early with Peepo’s future plans to subjugate Humans. I really like how they injected the Cochkala in the mercenary group and told of his growth with the teams. A good story, check it out!

After reading a number of 4HU stories and novels this one was an unexpected surprise. Plenty of action, intrigue, and subplots. It’s nice to read about smaller units and find out things about their history. The fact that this one was based upon a real life unit, was even better. Reading the previous novels, anthologies, and stories will help ,make better sense of it all. I highly recommend adding this to your collection or reading list.

Rob Howell delivers. This is another excellent entry in the Four Horsemen Universe- and beyond some minor background in the various anthologies, it stands well by itself. It’s a great story, and well worth the read. I’d heartily encourage 4HU fans and folks just getting into the universe to give it a read.
