The Hanged Man’s Song audiobook free

I just finished the 4-book Kidd series by Sanford/Camp. I enjoyed them. As with all his books this series was entertaining , The series takes place from 89 to 2003 when personal computers were getting off the ground and before smart phones. I enjoyed references to many of the old PCs that were once state of the art and now gone the way of the Dodo. Kidd is both a hacker extraordinaire with hacker buddies but also an accomplished artist with a paintbrush. Hes athletic and has skills from his Army days in Vietnam. His main sidekick is an accomplished cat burglar LuEllen. Both Kidd and LuEllen team up to loot bad guys of their computer secrets and ill gotten wealth. If you like Virgil Flowers and Davenport I think you will enjoy Kidd and his escapades.

I’ve read all of Camp’s (Sandford’s) books at least three times; I can’t help it. He is an amazing storyteller. And I love ’em all. But my favorites are the Kidd books, because I really like how personally Camp relates to the reader when he writes in the first person.

This one ends the Kidd series, unfortunately, but Kidd occasionally shows up (with Luellen) in a few of the Davenport books. To great effect, I might add. Unlike the Prey books or Flowers’, there’s less of the dry humor in the Kidd stories which, admittedly, I miss, but I can get plenty of that in Lucas’ and Virgil’s tales. Summing up, this is a great read. Even on subsequent re-readings I have never been able to put it down. If you don’t know if you like John Sandford’s work, pick one up. It’s time to find out!

Audiobook The Hanged Man’s Song by John Sandford

I have been a John Sandford fan for years. Mostly Lucas Davenport and the Prey series. I recently started the Flowers stories and now I’ve read all 4 Kidd books. The headline is deceiving as none of the characters substitute for the other. Kidd is his own man and the adventures are realistic and believable. The stories are truly “page turners”. If you are a Sandford fan don’t pass this series and character by.

Audio The Hanged Man’s Song narrated by Richard Ferrone

Bought this book because Im a huge fan of Sanfords Lucas Davenport and spin off Virgil Flowers series. Ive read every one of those books and they are all great. Decided to give the Kidd series
a try. Seems like it wasnt even written by Sanford, and I found it boring and tedious. Only gave it a 3 because I like Sanford, it probably deserves a 2. Dont recommend this book.

John Sandford is one of my favorite authors. I enjoyed this book so much, that I read it non-stop in one day, into the wee hours of the morning. I’m not computer savvy ,so I wasn’t sure if I would like it, but knowing how much I enjoy his books, I decided to buy it , and I wasn’t sorry at all. It was true Sandford style.
