The Hating Game is a contemporary romance novel. It is written by Sally Thorne. She is a promising author who already had a bestseller in USA Today in her short career so far. 99 Percent Mine is a quality novel by the author. You will also like her Second First Impressions novel for sure as well.
The narration of this book is done by Katie Schorr. It wasn’t a bad performance at all. But considering the nature of this book, it could have been much better with dual narrators.
The Hating Game
Lucy Hutton was always sure that the nice girl could easily get to the corner office. She is accommodating and charming. She takes pride in herself for being loved by one and all at Bexley & Gamin. Everyone was OK with it except the coldly efficient and impeccably attired Joshua Templeman. The feeling is mutual.
They were trapped together for 40 to 50 hours per week in a shared office. They both became entrenched in the one-upmanship game. This is the Staring Game which is known as the Mirror Game. The HR Game. It wasn’t a thing for Lucy to enable Joshua to beat her in anything.
It was especially the case when a big promotion was up for grabs. If Lucy manages to win this game then she will become the boss of Joshua. In case she loses then she would resign. So, why she is having so many steamy dreams regarding Joshua and dressing in a way for work as if she is going for a hot date?
The Hating Game is a very enjoyable and exciting slow-burn novel. You will love the writing style of Sally Thorne and the storyline of this book. The entire cast of characters is fun and you will find them quite realistic as well. The book is quite light on sex and you can find it to be PG for the only sex scene it has.
