The Last Summer audiobook free
I read this before finding out that it’s part of a family series so the focus on the peripheral characters was irritating. After I read more in the series I went back and reread this and loved it. I’d give it five stars but for my original reading experience. My advice is to read at least Down Lambeth Way first by
Mary Jane Staples. Prepare to fall in love with this Cockney family and need to read every book in the series.

The Last Summer audiobook Series Adams Family
A really cute book but very confusing when one has not read all the previous books in the series. There are SO many people mentioned. I still enjoyed it since the main story is about young Jonathan Hardy, 20-year-old accountant, meeting 17-year-old Emma Somers in June 1939. They meet by chance at a lunch restaurant and Emma being an immature girl, gets in to her head that he has his designs on her and talks herself in to believing that he is following her, when it’s more the reverse, she putting herself in his way on a daily basis. She falls for his country manners and when he is conscripted in to the army, she seeks him out to tell him how she feels.
In between all their lunches described, the reader meets Emma’s extended family that the book series is all about. Had there not been two family trees in the beginning of the book that I could go back to over and over to see who people are, I would have been utterly lost.

Brilliant as the whole series is, I’ve read them one after the other, some are better than others and I can’t stand Polly, but I feel as though they are friends .
