Review#1

I loved every moment of this beautifully written tale based on a true story. Spanning many years and involving many of the same characters, secrets are revealed and questions resolved as the book winds it’s way through love and loss during war time England and France.
The characters were believable and the storyline very satisfying.

Review#2

I just loved reading this book. It I s beautifully written making it a pleasure to read. It moves effortlessly between three time periods in France where you notice the differences between generations but also the sameness of basic human needs. The need for love and the need to live life fully in the present.

Review#3

I enjoyed the book very much. I thought the writing was so vivid. I did find that sometimes I had to reread pages to remember what time period I was in. But all in all very, very good.
