We all remember our first love, and we’ll never forget out first heartbreak. Mila’s story is guaranteed to stir up all those old, bittersweet memories in the reader. Mila thinks her life is on track. She has one more year of college and a boyfriend who’s on the brink of proposing. There’s just the minor matter of still needing to declare a major before her last two semesters. Oh, and walking in on her soon-to-be-fianc in bed with a female who is decidedly NOT Mila. Yeah. Thats a problem.

Fed up with California and needing the comforts of home, Mila goes to the beach on the Deleware shore where she spent her summers growing up. She finds a summer job and a roommate and hopes the summer by the sea will heal her heartbreak. She’s focused on herself, on putting the pain in the past and figuring out her future, and the handsome lifeguard, J.J., is the last distraction she needs.

This book is a little more young adult than I usually read, and it gave me a bit of whiplash at times with the story’s main conflict for Mila, and her vacilating between I need to focus on me” and I think I’m in love with J.J. The characters are complex, realistic and endearing, and the storys pacing is great, so I was never bored. I love this author’s style and she never fails to pull me into the story quickly and easily. If you like YA romance, this one is right up your alley, and youll love Mila and J.J.!

So enjoyed both of these books. I laughed out loud so many times. Loved how you can picture all of your main characters. Great writer.

This was a good story But I gave it only for stars because I would have liked it to have had more things happen at the end. Her ex and dad were so bad I would have enjoyed some emotional revenge on them, especially the dad since the ex already got pounded by J.J. The dad (and wife) need to be brought to their knees–would be SO satisfying.

I love this story! Mila and JJ are one of my favorite couples!! I have read and listened to this story multiple times and I fall in love with them all over again each time. I cried with Mila and rejoiced with her through each chapter. I relate to her struggles with her family and dad so much, it broke me the way he talked to her. I am so happy she found her dream job and dream man in her dream town! Good job Ivy! Another hit!

Loved this book but I love all Ivy’s books!! Its a really cute, sexy, addictive book! There weren’t any parts that felt like they dragged out and it flowed really well! Who wouldn’t want their own lifeguard?! Definitely recommend this book and series!
