Not sure if the author forgot how this series started out but I didn\’t. Addison\’s fiancé left her high and dry at the alterbecause he was cheating on her – with Addisons nasty coworker. We all hated him and his mean gf, right? But alas, Addison found love again with Nick, a man who would do just about anything for her. Oh but there\’s Savage the bad penny who doesn\’t respect her relationship at all because as a player he wants what he wants, but he\’s hot and Allison can\’t remember how it felt to be treated like this when her ex did it to her so she never tells dear Savage to back off. Even though she thought she and Nick might be buying booties a few books ago…oh yeah. And Nick proposed too and they\’re together… ****SPOILERS**** Fast forward to this book which appears the entire plot was conceived solely to get Addison stark naked in a room with a naked Savage. Period. This plot is literally transparent in its objective. The author obviously wants Allison to bed Savage the \”hotter than Georgia asphalt\” FBI man but there\’s that pesky Nick relationship too. Hhhhhmmm, put them together in a nudist colony and Bam! How could ey help themselves?! It\’s not like Addison has a commitment or anything, right? Not like she\’d be hurting anyone, right? Oh wait… So five books in everything that was fun and likeable about Addison is in the toilet at least for me. She\’s now exactly the same slimely person her ex was, she\’s got the morals of a gutter rat and is so controlled by her hormones – which go crazy around the stud Savage – that she can\’t find her backbone and tell him to drop his sleazy act, she\’s in a committed relationship. I mean, he\’s Sooooooo hot it\’s not her fault if she cheats, right? Or here\’s an original idea, have the decency to tell Nick it\’s over BEFORE she jumps Savage. Here\’s the thing – I don\’t give a fig who she ends up with. But this series has devolved in to just about everything I hate in a book- a wishy-washy lead female character unable to ever speak her mind, a never ending eye-rolling suitor war love triangle, cheating and hypocrisy. While everything I enjoyed about Addison is circling the drain along with her character, at least she\’ll probably get some good hot sex, right? I really hope her boyfriend/fiancé/ whatever walks in on her and Savages naked hormone explosion and tells her exactly where to go and walks away from her forever. However I\’ll never know because I won\’t purchase any more from this series nor will I recommend on the blog. **I actually read this about a month ago and didn\’t want to review immediately because I was so peeved at what the author did to the immensely likeable Addison character so I thought I\’d step away. Well, I find myself still just as riled. I\’m far from a prude and I would\’ve loved if the author had chosen to have Addison play the field – why not, she\’s still relatively young & single & recovering from a dog of a fiancé – but I draw the line at playing with other people\’s feelings. It\’s cruel. And she should know that well herself. I think it\’s doubly insulting that she\’s so willing to cheat and throw her relationship with Nick away for a roll with someone she knows is a player & it shows zero respect for Nick. Done.

Whiskey on the Rocks audiobook in series Addison Holmes
This book has the same book number (#5) and description as Whiskey Tango Foxtrot: \”In Liliana Hart’s New York Times bestselling Addison Holmes series, Addison bites off more than she can chew as she investigates a decades-old murder at a nudist colony. Addison sets out to discover who stole a kidney from her newest client–a kidney that was still very much attached to its owner when it was taken. With her brand new P.I. license in hand, nothing could possibly go wrong\” I didn\’t realize when I purchased this that it is a novella. I thought I was buying the longer book. $2.99 seems a bit high for 84 pages. I absolutely love this series and I\’m disappointed in the wrong description. I wish the story would have been longer.

Audiobook Whiskey on the Rocks by Liliana Hart
Confused and then spent 10 minutes after reading it to figure out that it is mis-numbered. That\’s why it gets a 3. Since I\’ve always been a big fan of this series, automatically bought the book when notified it was out. Didn\’t realize it was a short until it just ended, literrally, \”The End.\” & then the book gave a bit of Whiskey Tango Foxtrot. I was ready to settle in for a couple evenings of fun reading. I purposefully don\’t purchase shorts. Didn\’t realize I needed to check to see how many pages there were for this one. Very disappointed.

Audio Whiskey on the Rocks narrated by Connie Ventress
Like so many others I have enjoyed this series but this turned it sour for me. If there any more \”Whiskey\” books in the series, I won\’t be buying them. Most novellas are identified up front, they are usually $1.99, and they are at least 95 pages. The book is not described as a novella, it\’s $2.99, and it claims to have 84 pages. It\’s really only about 50 pages long since the 10 page prologue is repeated verbatim towards the end of the book and the last quarter of the book is a \”sample\” from the previous book in the series. If Ms. Hart needs money that badly, I suggest she find a source somewhere else and not rip off her fans.

Huge fan of Addison Holmes series…but this one was way to short. Though it had the base of what makes the Whiskey series fun, there just wasn\’t enough substance to it. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot and this one should have been one book. Whiskey Tango Foxtrot AFTER this one not before. I thought I was going crazy, when On the Rocks ended, there was part of Foxtrot next, I had purchased and read last April 2016, and in it they were talking about the nudist colony they had been to???? But they hadn\’t been to the nudist colony yet until this book. Sounds backwards to me. Maybe Liliana Hart is trying to write to many books at once. Probably should stick to a couple of the greats…Whiskey series and JJ Graves series for sure, and give us fans more of what we are expecting from her.
