Working Back (Cook Brothers #3)

I loved everything about this story. The snarky banner between friends and siblings is hilarious, but it’s always sweet little Axel that steals the show for me. If he keeps hanging out with the family and the work crew, he’s never going to have to work a day in his life. He’s already made a bundle with that swear jar of his. lol!

Oh and I absolutely love the feisty MIL’s, too. I know what they say and do can be very shocking at times, but just because we may get older, it doesn’t mean we lose that spark, or the love and romantic desires we had in out younger years. In fact, I think sometimes those desires get even stronger and more enjoyable, when the threat of having a pregnancy scare is practically nonexistant.

As far as Bryant and Faith…..I am so glad they took it slow and learned more about who they have become after all this time apart. Their chemistry and love for one another was undeniable, though. Heck, there were times I thought my kindle was going to catch fire, just the way they looked deeply into each others souls. They were of the charts HOT!!!

And….I think this might have been the best epilogue of this series, so far. I can’t wait to see who snags Cohen.

I truly feel as if this book is some of BJ Harvey’s best writing to date. Her storytelling is at an all-time high and Working Back shows just how talented she is. This second chance love story is wildly addicting as Faith Baker and Bryant Cook find themselves face to face after 12 long years apart with each and every emotion possible pouring out of the pages as they navigate a new norm that is all kinds of unexpected. With BJ Harvey setting the pace with a very clever way for these two to be together again.

With the way these two just look at each other, I could feel the heat seeping out of my ereader. They have chemistry that is by far the most explosive in this series thus far and the other Cook brothers had it going on, believe me! But there is something just so carnal and raw when it comes to Bryant and Faith and their prior history with one another that gets under both my own skin and theirs too as they test the waters of this crazy new relationship they now have.

Perhaps it’s the comfort factor in having been in love before that makes their journey so inviting. Stepping on eggshells combined with that unmistakable sharp wit that Harvey has become known for, is one helluva winning combination. You can feel the pull each has for the other as they try not to cross that line again yet can’t help but do it anyway. Both Bryant and Faith trying to do it right this time around, and falling all over again like a well-versed rhyme. Gah, I just love them together!

Of course, the entire Cook and Baker crew are present and accounted for and add that magical touch once more. Despite all the good-natured ribbing, these are exceptional people who will fight for one another no matter what despite how and where the chips may fall. A loyalty that is both parts sweet and feisty and has me adoring each and every one of them!

With an ending that had me completely verklempt, Working Back is the consummate incredible read that will leave you sighing and swooning all over the place. I am in awe of BJ Harvey and the way she has created this fun-loving and romantic crew and how each book has me falling harder for them than the one before.

BJ Harvey is amazing and wrote an epic story again! Bryant and Faith have been in love since they were eight. Fourteen yrs later, he pops the question and Faith says no, then moves to the other side of the world! Heartbroken and devastated, Bryant tries to move on. Twelve long yrs have gone by, and Faith is home for Jamie and Aprils wedding. Faith wants a second chance, so Bryant gives her an ultimatum. Marry me! WTF?? Read this book, hell, read the whole damn series! Darn thats two dollars in Axels swear jars for me! Lol

This is a beautifully written book of second chances. I felt all of their emotions; the happiness, the loss, the heartache, the fear and excitement, the longing and their love for each other.Who doesn’t want a second chance at that first amazing love? This was such an emotional and beautifully written book. The chemistry between Faith & Bryant sizzled throughout this wonderful read. Do yourself a favor…read this book.
