Eve was examining a body at the Washington State Park while Roarke, her husband spotted a person among all the onlookers who he has known since his youthful days in Dublin. He was a man who claims to be the half-brother of Roarke. He was a man who used to kill people for a living and the one who had a lot of hatred for him.
Eve was quite quick to suspect that the spouse of the victim would have eagerly paid a killer to do the dirty job. Roarke on his side was quick to warn her that she needs to be extra careful if Lorcann Cobbe is the hitman.
This cold-hearted killer has been in pursuit by law enforcement agencies all around the world but to no avail. The lazy smirk that he has indicates that he would go on to target anyone who is of any significance to Roarke. Moreover, he is also quite confident that he will be able to get away with anything.
The book is superb and the credit goes first to K. D. Robb for such top-class writing of the story and the entire range of its characters. On top of that, the performance by Susan Ericksen deserves a special applaud as well. She has been outstanding throughout. She was able to offer distinct voices for different characters so you could recognize that who is talking.
