I really like the Andy Carpenter books; they are usually well plotted but provide some laughs too. Andy’s honest self-effacing humor is refreshing but does not take away from good characters and enjoyable action. One of my favorite characters is Marcus. This might be #22 in the series. Sometimes life is far too scary and serious, and another scary and serious book doesn’t help. It doesn’t hurt that this series has great courtroom scenes as well (always a plus). If you are new to it, start with #1, Open and Shut. You don’t have to start at #1, though, since each book stands well on its own and has a complete ending. Never a cliffhanger here! Easy reads and great fun.

Muzzled audiobook in series Carpenter Series
If you’re a Rosenfelt fan, you’ll love this book. If you’re not a Rosenfelt fan, you will like this book and want to read them all. If you like dogs, mysteries, and legal stories, this is the book for you. If you like dog stories you must read Rosenfelt’s true takes of his rescue experiences. “Dogtripping” and “Lessons From Tara” are must reads in addition to all the Andy Carpenter books. You will see a strong similarity between Rosenfelt and Andy. By the way, a tiny aside, as a KC Chiefs fan I liked the Patrick Mahomes mention. I can’t imagine anyone not liking the Andy Carpenter books.

Audiobook Muzzled by David Rosenfelt
Andy Carpenter, character extraordinaire, surrounds himself with unique characters, and with each new mystery we get to visit people we’re glad are in our lives. Each book stands alone in its mystery and the series is a constant source of anticipation as well as worth another listen (try the audio version too). “Muzzled” mystery isn’t an easy early solve and lives up to its genre. David Rosenfelt has again made my dad (92) and his daughter chuckle together while we listen to his latest book, a mystery with heart, humor, and wit. Perhaps there is not better time to start a series, loved by multiple generations, even more so by readers who love dogs.

Audio Muzzled narrated by Grover Gardner
What a great day – the book arrived timely and well packaged. Stayed indoors all afternoon laughing and just feeling good to be reading about the characters in the newest Andy Carpenter novel. I so enjoy how the narrative is first person from Andy’s perspective. I keep all of his hardcover books because the stories are ones I like to read over and over again.
Each time I get a new Andy Carpenter book, I have mixed feelings – I’m so excited to jump right into another of his stories, and then so sad when I finish it, because I have to wait for the next one to be finished. As well as laughing all the way through, the plot lines are always strong and keep you guessing until the end.

Another one written in a way that keeps me going until I’m done. Clearly written, morals predominant and with human and animal welfare never forgotten.
An excellent way to spend a sweltering summer day. Also interesting is the basic topic that is so prevalent in today’s medical conditions in a book written before a pandemic reared it’s ugly head and the need for testing for new drugs to fight this pandemic was a reality.
