2 books 2 book in one. O.K. I just dated my self by reciting a Certs commercial. (For those of you to young to know what Certs are they are mints.) I have to confess. I am such a huge Nicole Edwards fan that I don’t even read the blurb before I buy or read the book. So when I start to read it I am surprised by what I am reading. I have yet to find a book of Nicole’s that I don’t love.

So I am not writing a book report. You have probably read the book blurb and have read your fair share of reviews on this book. What I can say is that I loved it! I didn’t have the time to block out time to sit and read the book in one go, so it seemed like it took me forever to read it. Sometimes I only got to read a chapter at a time. With a book being written inside another book, it got interesting LOL.

Presley is a woman that I wish we all could be. She is so sure of herself and doesn’t care what others think of her tattoos and piercings. She is comfortable in her own skin. I think that is so important for the women of today to know how to feel.

Jack the bad boy writer that can write sex scenes that will set your panties on fire. I love that he knows what he wants and goes for it. In this case Presley.

The sex scenes (in both the books) are out of this world! I have gotten used to M/F/M scenes from Nicole, so this was a nice twist. I wonder with Nicole writing as Jacob Wild if this will be another pen name for her LOL. I was really impressed that Nicole can write from the man’s point of view so easily (or she just makes it look that easy.)

From reading the blurb on this book you may not realize its actually a book within a book. The hero, Jake, is attempting to write a book before the deadline from his publisher when he meets Presley. So the reader gets snippets, chunks, and sometimes whole scenes of what hes writing as the story moves along. Jakes real story with Presley, although not the same, is interwoven with the story he is writing. At the end of the actual Jake/Presley book is the polished and finished book that Jake wrote. So I stopped reading after the Jake/Presley portion of the story to write my review. I then finished the story that was written by Jake, the book within the book, and added to my review.

This story is so tender and sweet. To see these two wonderful people slogging through the baggage they carry in order to see that they ARE worth something. Its hard for me to explain what I mean by that. I just feel that Presley has so many friends that really love her and think shes great. Its not something they run around shouting from the rooftops, but its apparent in all of their actions. But she cant see that because deep down inside she doesnt believe that. To a certain extent, the same can be said for Jake. Both of them hold a bit of themselves back because they dont want to bring the other one down, when everyone else around them knows theyre both beautiful inside and out and can only bring that beauty out in each other.

I wasnt particularly happy with Gil and Gavin (especially Gil) because I felt they were disrespectful to Presley in how they went about their sex lives. In every other way they obviously love and care about her, but I dont think its too much to ask for them to go to their bedrooms! I think these aspects of the story show how Presley doesnt really assert herself to the extent that she should in fear of being left; that fear that shes not important enough.

I would have loved to see more of Jakes niece Abby. From the little we get to see them together its obvious they are important to each other. The way Jake grew up and his relationships with his mom, sister, and niece are all things that shaped him but werent touched on as much as Presley personal life was delved into. It didnt hurt the story, its just an observation I have.

I want to note one thing that I was so glad was included. There is an observation in the shower about the height difference and the logistics. Thank you!!! I never understand how shower scenes work if you have a regular size standard bath/shower. I always wondered if its because Im 52 with a husband over 6 feet tall or if every shower we ever had was smaller and more slippery than normal, lol.

I thoroughly enjoyed Unexpected, Jakes book within this book. I loved the snippets we saw as he was writing so was looking forward to see it all put together. Its about 65 pages long, so its a short story really. You get most of the story from Jakes writing along the way but its great to see it what was added to round out the story. The epilogue alone is worth reading the story. It was awesome! I think by the end I was almost as invested in Kora and Donovan as I had been in Presley and Donovan.

The style of this book was definitely unique and really showed Nicole Edwards writing chops. Ive enjoyed all of her work so far, but this put a fun spin on things.

Audiobook Inked on Paper by Nicole Edwards; Narrated by: Tor Thom

very good story about Jake Wild, best selling author of erotic romance novels, who moves back home to Texas from New York to help out during a family emergency. Jake finds that since his move he is having trouble getting back into writing but is being pestered by his manager to get his next book done on time which is fast approaching. Also in Austin is Presley, a tattoo artist and owner of a local shop, who since a break up a year ago is having the same problem Jake is in that she also cannot seem to draw the way she used to and a art contest is fast approaching. They meet up one day at a coffee shop and they click. Jake finds that all of a sudden he can write and Presley must be his muse as well Presley is finding she is starting to draw once again. As this book progresses you actually end up having a story within the story as you get to see the story Jake does as his next book which he pours not only himself into it but also what he wants Presley to feel as well. Really interesting concept to have the story within the story. A lot goes into this in that Jake has issues he needs to overcome to have a relationship and Presley certainly has some really tough issues she needs to get past to be there for Jake. Totally recommend – very good read also you can expect a lot of hot sex from not only these two, Jake’s characters, but also Presley’s roommates are constantly with someone.

This was such a great story. I have not read anything like it. In this story, the main male character is an author and he is writing a book (well attempting to)…while battling writers block. It really put me into the mind of an author and the thought process that is gone through while writing a book. This writer Jacob Wild, meets a woman, Presley Abrams, and he decides she is his muse. She is an artist, and it seems that she is struggling to design new work as well. As these 2 characters work out their issues, we get the story within, written by Jacob Wild. I loved that story too. I loved that the process of writing a book was there and the story that was given to us varied from the rough draft that was being written.
The two main characters seem to have a hard time coming together and I felt their struggle as if I was there with them. It really felt like a love story within a love story and it was overall refreshing and fun to read. I thoroughly enjoyed it.

What an amazing read !!

I have read many of Nicole Edwards books before and loved them, this one is no exception.
The idea of mixing a tattooist and an author as the two main characters was really appealing as a reader. There’s a wonderful vibe of creativity that runs throughout the entire story.

This couple seem on paper to be an unlikely match however they do say opposites attract and make the perfect couples, well Jacob Wild and Presley Abrams are definitely the perfect pair.

This was a different reading experience as Jake is an author that during this story writes his own story, therefore your kind of getting two stories for the price of one here ! Win – win 🙂

This is a beautiful story of love finding its way and I totally recommend clicking this book.
