Phill Kelly – War of Secrets (Space Marine Conquests)

One third of the book is about space marines / primaris marines. One third is about Xenos / Tau. One third is about normal citizens of the Imperium just trying to survive in the grim darkness of the future.

The prologue is very skipable. Fans of Horror may enjoy it but I found the first chapter to be where the book really begins.

Good use of established intellectual property

I will start off by saying that as a Space Wolf fan I was already heavily biased. That being said this was one of my least favorite of the Conquest series. The challenge of the grim dark of the 41st millennium is that if there is no hope there is no reason to continue reading. Sadly, this book presented no hope or redemption, and in the end left many lose ends. Read for the series but not recommended.

Almost hated the dark angles. There is so many traitors from all legions. Yet they cant admit they had some too. Was cool how the primis were treated like crap then sucked in.

I just cannot say enough about this series!

Enjoyable view into the Dark Angels and their view of the Primaris Marines supplied by Mars. The T’au components felt shoehorned in, but did provide some valuable insight into the ‘lost’ Fourth Sphere Expansion, and how their experiences will shake the foundations of the T’au Empire.
