Ruthless Game

I have always been comfortable immediately buying any of Feehan’s books; regardless. of series.
I have recently begun to check them out of the public library first because of the explicit sex scenes Ms Feehan and other previously favorite authors have chosen to include.
I do not need nor do I want either porn or instructions on sex. I read to be entertained and to “escape”. Luckily, Ruthless Game was an enjoyable read. Likeable characters and an exciting plot. (There were still a few pages I skipped, but not too many.) It is my deep desire that the many talented authors would not depend on sensatioal elements to catch a reader’s interest. Their skill and imagination got them published. Those elements will continue to see them published in the future.

This one is now in a tie with Murder Game as my favorite book, Kane and Kadan are in a tie for my book boyfriend.

If you cant tell by that sentence, I loved this book. Action packed without being overwhelming and yet there was plenty of time for the couple to get to know each other and establish a relationship.

I also loved finally having a book with a baby in it and seeing Kane so sweet with both Rose and Sebastian was a great bonus.

The writing for this book was amazing, I could see everything in my head and yet it wasnt too detailed.

The pace was perfect for the story and the action wasnt all about one thing, there were about five different action scenes mixed with the slow, romantic ones. Basically, no boring parts. Even when they spent just a couple of days watching the enemy.

Also, little side note, the guys really need to listen to the women when they say they feel really uneasy around someone and take their feelings into account.

Even their teasing was cute, Kane and Rose teasing each other to keep the tension from building.

I also loved seeing all of the other teams, except Team Four, coming at the end and seeing the other babies.

This entire series, up until Samarai Game, was/is good. A tiny bit predictable, but excellent characters, good tension, good movement through not only the individual story of this book, but she also moves the plot of the series as a whole along. She adds layer on layer on layer, in consecutive installments, in revealing aspects of the series big picture, and does not lack for action and plot developments in each and every book. Samarai Game, the next one (last one to date in the series), is considerably weaker, almost as if the author was pushing a deadline and life got in the way. Still good, but maybe only 3.5 stars.

Unlike some authors that attempt (unsuccessfully) to cash in on a series popularity while forgoing good writing, Ms. Feehan delivers the goods and remembers that readers can be disappointed, and unforgiving, when an author sells out and caves, delivering BAD writing to meet a deadline or the publishers pressure. She is a usually consistently enjoyable writer.

I enjoyed reading this book. There was a good amount of romance and action. I actually like both the H and h. I liked that they didn’t spend all their time in this book denying their feelings for each other. Kane(H) was an alpha male with a soft side. His softness comes out every time with Rose(h). He doesn’t hesitate to admit his feelings to her which is so sweet. Rose on the other hand is tough but kind. I like how she pretty much trust Kane from the beginning. They worked really well together as a team. What I like most about this book is seeing how Kane and Rose worked with Kane’s “family” to beat the enemies. The other Ghostwalker books had the H and h isolated by themselves for too long. This one lets us see the love and closeness within the team. Kane’s teammates truly were like family to him. I enjoyed reading the scene when they all worked together to save Rose and the baby from Whitney. I find Javier’s character to be very interesting. I hope he gets his own book and I hope it’s the next one. Over all this was a good read.

A new Team and a New Female to defend with the sec over flowing but the story line is great but the Doctor needs to be captured ripped apart and placed in numerous countries so the team’s can function and find the other girls.
