Shadow Game

I couldn’t wait for this book to end. The only good part – and it WAS good which is why you may want to give the 2nd book a chance (even though I am seriously recommending you avoid this one) – the only good part was the actual paranormal plot line. It was intriguing, but got only about 20% of the focus. Another 5% of time went towards introducing characters who will appear in future books.

The remaining 75% of this book went to relentless and tedious sex between the two leads. This author actually managed to make sex boring! The sheer volume of sex became laughable: they see each other and picture having sex, they are apart and each one imagines having sex, they are together again talking about having sex or having sex or looking at each other and – surprise! – thinking about sex. I began skimming the (long, long, long) sex scenes early on, looking for the next items of the actual plot.

Plus, no relationship or character development occurs anywhere. The people in this book are written very flat. They just paranormally ‘know’ one another, so there is nothing for us as readers to see or touch or feel that helps us learn or care about them.

I absolutely recommend you save your time and money by skipping his book. If its description interests you, maybe give the 2nd book in this series a shot. You won’t miss anything, and maybe some actual character development or focus on the plot happens there. Or maybe not …

I started out by reading book 14. It was a gift, i didnt know it was a series before i started reading it (that was the Gino love affair Covert Games). I finished it and looked for the other volumes.

I read 11-13 & loved them. I then had to absolutely start at the beginning w book 1. This book answers lots of questions from further volumes but they are all standalone books IMHO. Im delving into Book 2 right after this. Yay, more sex!

This author has such an amazing ability to create a story and characters that you get drawn into while building a world where you know the information is accurate and she has done a tremendous amount of research on. I love the way these characters interact and the way they are all connected, not just the featured couple. This story is so intense and full of emotion that it held my interest beyond the HEA. Im really looking forward to the next book in the series and discovering who will find their other half next.

I have started th Ghostwalker series again. I can’t say it’s my favorite because I really like each series. But would like to ask C.F. if she would go back read this series from the first through at least the 10th book, they are real good then she changed the style . I have no idea why they changed of course, did she lose interested? She is a awesome author and she has spoiled us with all the different series she keeps going each year. I don’t want to start a new book just out because I know when I finish it I’m going to have to wait another year before I can see what happens next. If you are going to read her books you have to have patience, because you won’t get the next one in 2 or 3 months, sure wish she was superwoman 🙁

This book was just as good as I remembered. I have always loved this series and I am glad that my feelings haven’t seemed to change. I can’t wait to rediscover this series and it’s amazing couples.

Lily and Ryland were an explosive couple. I just loved everything about them and how they rely on each other. Their abilities are fascinating and I can’t wait to see what new abilities appear in the future.
