The Last Night Out

Just when I thought I had figured out where author Catherine O’Connell was going with the characters and plot in her latest book, The Last Night Out, she’d throw me a curve. Her latest mystery, a psychological thriller, is a tangle of intrigue. I began to like a particular character until O’Connell provided me a reason to question my judgment. The plot? I worked it out a time or two only to discover as the book came to end, that I really hadn’t figured it out at all. While some reviewers complained that they never bonded with a character, I bonded with each of them……for a time. That’s what I liked about this book. I never got comfortable or knew where the author was taking me. That’s what a mystery book is supposed to be, isn’t that right?

This was so much fun to read. Six friends go out for a bachelorette party. The next morning one of them is dead. We get to know each of the women, and all of them have their secrets — as do the men in their lives. The author keeps you in suspense right up to the satisfying conclusion. This one takes hold of you and doesn’t let go.

From the first page I was hooked. Great writing and lots of twists and turns throughout the book. I couldn’t put it down! I highly recommend it as a fast and fun read. Get your copy today!!!!!

I liked the fast pace of the novel and the character development. It kept my interest until the very end and was just as surprised at the conclusion as it seems were many other readers. I highly recommend as an engaging murder mystery that is highly entertaining!

A psychological thriller both beautifully written and brilliantly conceived. The author’s sense of humor was as captivating as the plot.
I can’t remember the last time I read a book without putting it down.
