I adore Jesse. This story had more exciting storylines, but the same thrilling amount of sex, sex, sex! I know, Im a sex starved crazy woman. If you like oversexed, well endowed, genetically enhanced psychic super uber soldiers sometimes with a possessive, dominant personality, this is the series for you!

Anyway, Saber is just like all of Whitneys girls scared, scary & deadly. Her and Jesse make a great couple. I like when the #GhostWalker teams are involved together. Its nice to revisit with the other characters from the books. I wish the author could weave more of them back into the storylines.

I love that theyve settled into the compound w the Nortons. Cant wait to hear abt the babies, i hope theres lots more on that!

I’m a big Feehan fan and enjoy all her series. Saber and Jesse make a great couple, as they have awesome compatibility and sexual chemistry. Jesse’s sister Patsy is a big part of this book too and she’s a hoot! I love all the ghostwalker characters and their loyalty to one another as well as to their country. This was a re-read for me as I often like to start a series from the beginning and read thru to the newest book and keep all the plot lines and characters fresh as I devour the latest book. Feehan is a good strong writer who develops a good plot full of twists and surprises and although the paranormal enhancements are a huge part of the story so are the characters and their personalities and ability to trust and love. A great read full of excitement and romance, what could be better?!

Jess knew that he would be able to walk again and was determined to succeed but so far there was no luck. He kept his secret of experimental procedures to himself, not letting even his roommate know what
was happening. Saber knew that Jess was keeping secrets from her but could only guess what they were. Saber was keeping her own secrets from Jess too but knew he would never approve of what she did before they became the best of friends or more. How can two people who are hiding things from each other still find love? How will they get together and stay alive? Highly recommend this book and series.

THE STORY: Jess Calhoun is a GhostWalker, enhanced genetically to have physical and psychic abilities. When he is tortured and left in a wheelchair, he has made a new place for himself on the team. Ten months ago, a mysterious young woman came into his life. He knew that Saber Wynter was hiding something but he discovers that she is a GhostWalker as well and then begans to worry that she may be there to spy on him. Saber is one of Whitney’s orphans: taken and trained as an assasin. She is now running from her fate and fears that she might have made a mistake in taking a job with Jess because he might be part of Whitney’s attempts to recover her. Even worse, Jess and Saber might unknowingly be part of Whitney’s breeding program.

OPINION: I loved the characters in this book. Jess and Saber have a real relationship before either realizes that the other is a GhostWalker. This relationship allows them to trust one another in the face of finding out about the truth about one another. Saber’s story is especially tragic and despite her innocent appearance she may be the most damaged heroine so far. She and Jess are both different than they first appear. Jess, especially, is especially sweet even though he is a strong soldier. From the beginning, he wants Saber as his own to care for. I loved his determination to convince Saber to stay with him and to commit to their relationship. This book is also full of action and mystery about what parties are threatening Saber and Jess. I also liked that there are appearances from other GhostWalkers and we get an update on what is happening with them.

WORTH MENTIONING: For fans of the series, the conspiracy expands and gets more players.

FINAL DECISION: This book has a different feel than the previous books in this series. This book begins as a simple girl meets boy book where they are concealing their true selves and then an action adventure story breaks out. This gives the romance a different feel because these two people know one another and thus their connection is special. I really loved how it was different.

STAR RATING: I give this book 4.25 stars.

This was a hot one. So far all the books in the Ghostwalker series have been sizzling with incredibly virile, alpha males but not all couples have had great chemistry. Jess and Saber, however, are like an enzyme reaction…bubbling, sizzling, and setting each other off. The story both illuminates and complicates the on-going Ghostwalker narrative. These stories are complex with unfolding political intrigue, employing genetic manipulation, and finding the will and the way to live a normal life. It’s enough to drive the loyal fan crazy and keep us totally hooked. Ahhh, it is so good.

What I really love about this series is the balance between the Ghostwalker enhanced soldiers and their female counterparts. The women are also enhanced and have special skills. Skills that are oftentimes more dangerous then the men’s. There is parity in the relationship that I really enjoy. This is especially so in this book. Saber has an extraordinary skill that puts people on edge. Her touch is literally lethal and what that does to a person’s psyche is immeasurable. Jess is the only one who can provide her with peace and calm. But because of their history, training, and enhancements, they cannot live a “normal” life. The life and legacy of Dr. Peter Whitney continues to dog them and all the other Ghostwalkers. The tension is high and the story is tightly written. I loved it and cannot wait for the next installment.

IN A NUTSHELL:

This is a fantastic addition to the series. Don’t bother trying to read this without starting this series from the beginning, but I promise you will not be disappointed if you do.
